Replacing TV

There was nothing else connected to the TV other than this headphone jack and the coax cable for the tv signal, so I don't think so.
There are 3 different sets of coloured outputs on the new flat screen, but I spotted one set where there are only 2 audio outputs with no corresponding video output.
Is there a volume control somewhere outside of the TV for the speakers? The line level outputs will only work through an audio amplifier...
