Simple Step Light Mod

My previous TT (Outback) had an outside step light that could be turned on by a switch located inside next to the door. That was a handy feature for us because neither one of us can see very well at night. So I have been wanting to somehow add one to my new unit.

I found This Lamp at an Advance Auto parts store a few weeks ago for $5. It has a magnet on the back to secure it to a metal surface.

I attached it to the frame in the folding step well. Operating it with one lamp works great. I left it on for about 5 hours over the weekend and the 3 AAA batteries are still holding up. It doesn't have a convenient on/off switch inside but I can survive without it.

Problem Solved.

I use the same type of light in my TT. I've got 5-6 & often will use them instead of the coach lights. Works great under & on top of the cook top hood, since it's magnetic. The swivel hook is also handy for other locations around the trailer. I get mine at Harbor Freight, often times they are free with coupon & any single item purchase. ;)

It says "original coupon must be presented". I don't think they will take a copy of the coupon.
