I went to the Factory in Nappanee, IN last month. Bought 3 baggage door lock assemblies so I would have two locks instead of a latch and lock on each door. $20 each including two keys per lock.

    Give them a call!
  • I looked recently for baggage doors and rv parts nation had the best price for custom order.
  • I found that E Bay Had the size I needed, maybe they would have something that would fit your needs.
  • Yes, I removed the cover panel on the inside which was screwed onto that 2x2 next to the door. There is a lot of unused space there. The trailer is wooden frame so I would be able to deal with any joists or add header board if needed. I probably would need a place that made them custom. The link I gave does it in half inch increments.

I only would do one side, I need an easy place to put these steps. Since it is a Toy Hauler, I can't use a rear hitch storage solution and I don't want to unstrap things in the truck bed and lift it over the rail for one night stays. Also, when camping, dealing with things in the basement is like building a ship in a bottle.

  • I googled "RV hatch" and clicked "shopping". There's hundreds of hatches. Are you looking for something really extra large or what?
