Too much work for me :W ... I instead moved my spare tire to the front pass through storage compartment where it's completely out of the elements. :B. The irony I suppose is that our trailer came with the spare tire mounted under the A frame, held in place by a cable system similar to the OP's, except mine is now stored away in my workshop. ;)
