We had a cape cod style house with dark color rolled roofing for flatter roofs on the dormer sections. DH used that in white on the upper roof areas and it did reduce the heat in the upstairs of the house. We were glad we did it. It's been 3 years now and it's still holding up good. Just rolled it on right over top of the asphalt roofing that was there.
