- RoyBExplorer IIYou only got a couple of choices - Get a roof mounted crank up antenna assy or do what I did on my OFF-ROAD POPUP and mount a PVC PIPE up the side of the camper tied into the side of the roof and sitting in a open TV bracket on the bottom.
Of course i have to manually swivel the PVC to find the local HDTV channels.
Works great for me and I didnt have to drill any holes through my roof...
I am currently using a BATWING antenna with the built-in PREAMP but have used just regular TV antennas from LOWES...
We pick up 6-36 Digital HDTV station from the local towns just about anywhere we go here on the East side of the US..
Here is a couple of photos... I can break my PVC down into two poles which makes it easy to transport. Takes about 5-minutes to setup. In this photo I am using one of LOWES $90 VHF/UHF hugh house antennas. Worked great but didn't last long having to fold it up for transport. Finally broke too many elements trying to fold them for travel...
The roof mount crankup antenna should not be ruled out. They sell a install kit for about $150.. Of course they are watertight... You have the crank on the ceiling to use... I just hate to drill holes thru the roof...
Roy Ken - ScottGNomadGet a new Jack antenna. They're tuned for the new Digital stations, dont crank up and you can get them around $135 on-line.
If your going to spend the time and money then you may as well get a modern setup. - eric1514ExplorerI'd give Lance a call. Your camper may be prewired if you drill in the right place.
