Where to store the wine?

My father was a very distinguished and honorable man. RIP Daddy. One of his son-in-laws, an important attorney (in his own mind) brought some wine from his cellars to my Dad's birthday party. My 3 sisters and myself were drinking his wine and smoking our cigarettes. Walking up to my father he stated, "Captain, didn't you ever teach your daughters how to drink good wine? They are SWIGGING my wine and smoking cigarettes." My father turned to him and said in all honesty, "If doesn't come in a gallon jug with a screw top- you're wasting it on them." I loved that man!

similar to the real cork or synthetic argument, oh excuse me discussion! A study that ended a couple years back that took 100 bottles of wine with cork and synthetic and then screw cap bottles as a control the surprise of the test over 20 years? The screw cap was the only one that EVERY bottle was drinkable!! :B

One actually that makes the box one of the best containers is the bag collapses as you take wine out and oxygen never touches the remaining wine! Making it actually last longer and be more consistent. Of course they need to use decent plastic so the bag doesn't contribute any flavor or smells to the wine!

Now to the OP we use a wine box on it's side in a cabinet behind the livingroom slide. Just fits with door closed and the bottles can't go anywhere.

Our 5th has a wine cooler built right in. Wouldn't be too difficult to add one though.

So, your only going for the week end?

We make our own wine from kits. Less than $100 for 6 gallons or about $3 per bottle. It is put up in half gallon jugs; it is easier, fewer bottles. Inside the fifth wheel, we use a hassock for daily use. It will hold only so much. So, when we take off on our 4 month winter journey, we bring some with us.

Denner would be on the list, but you have to belong to their wine club to even get an appointment for tasting. Tablas creek is releasing some 94 to 99 reds (Parker).

When you are in Paso, you want to hit Adeleda, Opolo and Croad (a little hard to find). They are in my opinion the best. There is a great RV park nex to the airport.
