2004 Cardinal - total electrical failure

We have had our 5th wheel plugged in for the last month. Everything was fine until today. Go out and Nothing is working. Electrical supply still connected and battery indicator says battery is at 75%. What would cause this? Makes no sense. If battery is okay why no lights. If electric is plugged in why no lights or furnace,

Help? We hoped to leave for Arizona in two days!!!
  • You may also want to check for a bad GFI outlet. On our Cedar Creek the GFI outlet in the bathroom shuts down the entire rig, even the convertor. I don't know if that age of Cardinal is wired the same way but it is an easy thing to check.
  • If you are still having trouble, I believe I am nearby and I would be happy to help out a fellow forum member and RV'r. (N/C)

  • Do you have the red battery switch near the door? On our old 2005 29WBLX it was easy to hit with you foot and turn it off. Should be turned clockwise. Chris
  • If you have a voltmeter, check one of your electrical outlets, check breaker at shore power source, may have tripped
  • Our rig had an inline circuit breaker between the battery and the rig that tripped one day in the dealers lot. I didn't know it was there located under the rig at the left front corner. It was a manual reset breaker which he replaced with an automatic reset.
That breaker would kill the 12 VDC to the coach. Check the voltage at the DC breaker box input. If zero that is the problem.
  • Hi Francine, it sounds like you have a couple of things going on. I suspect you lost 120VAC and your battery is discharging but even at only 75%, the lights and such should work.
Have you checked all the breakers and fuses?
By the way, are you in Woodinville Wa?
    I think we're neighbors!

  • When you say nothing is working do you mean 120 volt not working or 12 volt not working?
