2008 Hitchhiker II LS structure?

Does anyone know what type of structural components the 2008 Hitchhiker II LS has? Is it aluminum framing in the walls or wood? Same question regarding roof structure? I'm considering a 26.5 RLBG and I can't find anything definitive about the materials used in its construction (aside from the Blue Dow insulation). I'm guessing it's wood because the mfrs usually brag about aluminum superstructures. I realize it's quality built regardless of material. But I had a bad experience with a leak in a wooden framed unit - so I'm a bit gun-shy.
  • They used wood because it doesn't conduct the cold and moisture to the inside. Hitchhiker built excellent trailers. I think the ls is aluminum walls as stated by Old biscuit.
  • check out nuwaowners.org forums for much more on any HH II units.

Can't find it any more......use to be an cross-section exploded view of structure of 5th wheel showing roof trusses, sidewalls, flooring, insulation etc etc.

I have a 2007 II LS (LITE SERIES)

We FTd in it for 7yrs

It has aluminum framed sidewalls that are filled with the Dow Blue Insulation and interior/exterior walls are glued to studs under vacuum.

Roof is 2X4 wood trusses overlaid with plywood

Subfloor (1" OSB) is laid down on top of 5vr frame

    Need more details.....contact NUWA

  • There is some wood in our aluminum frame so things like the awning brackets can be attached. Our roof rafters are wood and I believe NuWa has a unique way of constructing and attaching the roof. If you have any questions, give Kansas RV (aka the old NuWa factory) a call or look on their website. They are very helpful people and should be able to answer any of your questions.
