I get on the throttle hard when I have the fiver hitched and it does it. Pull away with a light foot and it does not. 800 lbft of torque does not help compared to your old 500 lbft truck
We had our 2001 3500 2wd dually lowered 2" in the rear and this caused some launch shudder but easy to control with the right foot.
the 8.1 gas engine had 450 ft lbs so it is possible at 500 ft lbs I would think.
chevman - Pop-Pop_CExplorerI'm surprised never had that on my CHEV. 3500 DRW. 2011!
Pulled a 40' cardinal and a 38' HH. CHAMPAYNE. - 2008WildcatExplorerMy 2011 LONGBED 3500 has it...
It also has a 2 piece drive shaft with a center carrier bearing. Certain combinations of this drive shaft and gearing, and tires, have shudder.
It has been beat to death on the Cumminsforum...... - cummins2014Explorer

When hooked I always ease into the throttle when taking off and once rolling I lay into it. If I hammer from a stop with a load it will talk to you! But I don't.
Same here get rolling , then get on it . - VeebyesExplorer IINever had it. But then, I have always been the last dog out of the gates when the lights go green.

Same here:)....Mine is perfect....naturally, it's a Ram:)
how many times can a truck be perfect but traded for another perfect truck? Some things just do not go away.:h
awesome ending ya think?

Don't know, I traded a perfect Chevy 3/4 ton 8.1/A for a perfect Chevy 2500 D/A, traded that for a perfect Chevy 3500 Dually D/A, traded that for a another perfect Chevy 3500 D/A Dually..all in LTZ trim, traded that for a perfect Ram 3500 Dually and on...What's the big deal? I don't spend money on drugs, smoking, don't drink, have a very good job that pays pretty good money, wife and I are "empty nesters".....I purchased a brand new car/truck whatever every 2 or 3 years.....guess that's my down fall....This one is my retirement truck...we'll see what we see....at 64 yrs of age, I'm in "preparing to retire in 23 months" mode...Someone stated their truck was "perfect", I stated the same thing about mine..What was wrong with that:?
I know I get ragged alot for trading as often as I have, but dang, I work hard for my money, I would think, if my wife thinks it's ok, then what's the big deal...Every Chevy I owned was great, been the same with the Ram's I've owned, new or not....people buy brand spanking new cars and trucks and end up with duds...I haven't, I have no issues with Chevy or Ram, nor would one expect one to for only owning them 2 to 3 yrs, but having been on quite a few GM/Chevy forums as well as Ram forums...I've found that isn't necessarily true..some are bad from the "get go"..I now have almost 20,000 trouble free miles on this truck, tows great, is my daily driver and I'm surrounded in luxury...No CEL's, no problems...I wouldn't expect anything less, but know that isn't alway's the case, even with brand new vehicles.
Jim so what's the problem getting a perfect truck every time. I see it as a good thing not a bad rap. I usually like every thing we buy .
