Hello, everyone.

This is Lily & Richard. We are new to RV life. Just retired, got a 2014 Crossroad Sunset 5th wheel RV & 2010 Ford F-150 4X4 Supercab XLT 514L V8. Planning our 2019 cross country RV trip now. Hope to hear more suggestion from your guys - experienced RVers. Thanks in advance.

Not much different than planning any x-country driving trip, just need to find campgrounds instead of hotels. 🙂

I do have to say that I'm in the camp of "not enough truck" for the FW. Will you be able to do it? Probably. Will you like the driving portion? Probably not.

Thanks, Kevin.Yes, we may have to give up Yellowstone, back on the way you mentioned. Will do more research. Appreciste the suggestion. Sorry for the delay. Had a few busy days.

Greetings from a fellow Canadian! I'm out in northern Alberta. Are you planning to come through southern Saskatchewan and Alberta on your way into, or back from BC? The roads are pretty flat out here, at least until you get into BC. I say that because it'll be easier on your F150. I've towed along that way, but I've always pulled with a diesel. Ask away!

Thanks, Philh. You seems familar with that area very much. We are not really cars lovers, and scared of traffic.Detroit is not a must visit. From New York to Toronto to Michigan, in your opinion, what is the best flat route should we go? Thanks in advance.

Based on your 8/16/19 timing, if you have any love of cars, you might consider Dream Cruise, but I have to warn you, it is absolutely the worst traffic you will encounter in your life. Best bet find a place to park the truck (only) and walk up to woodward avenue. The peak areas are around 9 mile, 12-14 mile, and in Pontiac.

Sorry to make you feel this is fake. As I said, we are new to RV and new to North America, not good at geography :o. What I did was choose the places I want to go first, then look at the Road Atlas (the one I am using seems not very good, I really didn't see mountains 😞 ).I haven't started use the online route planning tools to plan the detailed route yet. But glad that I found this place, have so many experts guide me to continue my planning. Thanks, everyone. Really appreciate your opinion and help.

Thanks a lot. I wrote those place down, will add to the detailed plan. We didn't plan to do anything in Detroit. Just only want to drive 3-5 hours, seems we have to stop at Detroit. If you have better suggestion, we can definitely change our plan. Thanks again.

LOL, there's no button on a 2010 F150 6sp. In 2011 they went to the select shift button when they introduced the 3.5 EB.
