- golf_bearsExplorerDennis M M,
That's a great idea, I'm going to give it a try.
Thanks. - lillyputzExplorer IIAs per Camping World. The 40 lb tank, dry. 29.3 lbs.
Lillyputz - Dennis_M_MExplorerThe last propane in the tank will not vaporize at very low temps.
In Denver last fall we hit a week off single digit and below zero temps (14 below one night!). With both furnaces running we went through four 40 pound tanks in 10 days. First refill the tank was not completely empty, after that I put a drop cord with a 60 watt bulb in the bottom of the compartment and the tanks emptied completely. - golf_bearsExplorercdlaine,
Now you know why you married such a smart wife, LOL!!!!
My tanks come out pretty easy especially when they are empty.
Reason I was asking is because when it gets really cold, 35F and below, tanks don't empty completely. Feels like a few pounds stay in the tank. So today I weighed the tank (30 lbs) when the regulator showed empty. The tier weight printed on the tank is 28.7 lbs. So I was thinking maybe the regulator needs to be replaced? - cdlaineExplorerRoland ...
Funny you should bring this up ...just this a.m. , needed to get the
cylinders refilled. I usually remove them from the unit, a major pain,
as the storage slot barely clears the two cylinders... quite a bit of
effort to extract and replace... so, (this is where I come out looking bad),
my bride says "why don't you just let me ask if we can pull the rig over to
the refill point and let them fill the tanks ? "
Doh ! :S
...of course they would. Done.... and I feel foolish. Don't be like me.
Morale to the story... our cylinder weights are no longer as important as they were yesterday.
