2240 volts will blow up your equipment. DO NOT USE!!!:E.....LOL

I really did not mean to be so assinine, but I have owned 2 50 amp MH's so the difference between 30 and 50 amp did not need to be explained. I was just wondering if any 5er's had 50 amp as I had not found any. I have been advised and I do appreciate everyones post.
For the "wondering" part -
Fifty amp for trailers has been common for quite a while. (My 2005 5th has 50 amp).
IMO - (guesswork) pretty standard on 5th wheels - as well as a lot of larger TTs.
However - since you have already had 50 amp RVs - and know the advantages and disadvantages - *if* you found a 5th you really like, at a good price - 30 amp shouldn't be a deal breaker.......unless - you spend a lot of time in really hot and/or humid climates.
Having said that...... I wouldn't buy a *new* RV without 50 amp service.
. - Water-BugExplorerEven if you find those two rare outlets, you won't have 50 amp service. You'll have dual 30 amp service. (7200 watts vs 12000 watts)

Two AC units = 50 Amp service! If your rig is large enough for 2 AC units then in the summer when it is hot you will want them and the 50 amp service. But if one AC unit will do the job, IMHO 30 amp will be a better bargain! Some rv parks upcharge if you require 50 amp service, some older parks may have only 30 amp sites or limited 50 amp sites, and when traveling you have to always ask! If you are 30 amp and for some reason only have a 50 amp outlet a simple adaptor is all you need. But the other way 50 amp and only a 30 amp plug, then it is more complicated and expensive, and if both outlets are on the same phase your $500 device will not work!
There are 50 to 30,and 30 to 50 amp adaptors available.A few more $$ for the 30 to 50 dogbone/adaptor.
You are correct there are adaptors available, but if you have a 50 amp service and you use an adaptor to plug into a 30 amp outlet, you still only have 30 amps to work with, wearas if you have a 30 amp rig and use an adaptor to plug into a 50 amp outlet you still have 30 amps available to your rig. And yes there are devices that will allow you to plug into two differant outlets to get your 50 amp service, but as stated each outlet must be on a differant phase for that to work, and in my experiance that is a rare find! - restlesswindExplorer

So a 50 amp RV circuit delivers 300% the power of a 30 amp RV circuit. A single 50 amp leg would only supply 67% more power than a single 30 amp leg.
- GON2SKIExplorer50A was available as a option from the factory on this 2014 unit so if we want a 2nd AC in the future it's prepped
