- larry_barnhartExplorerGoing on the 3rd winter using poli glow. No flaking or any yellow tint but I redo it each summer. Instructions will show it is not forever. The truth is it is so easy to apply after the hard job of removing the old wax. I waxed our 2001 at least 2 times a year and 3 sometimes. Not really as much fun as some are feeling it is. Nothing is perfect.

Poly-glow was one the biggest mistakes I made to get a shine on the trailer. Looked good going into the second season than starting flaking off in spots. Had a yellow tint, was a pain to get off. I will never use that junk again. I think it is expensive floor wax.
I have heard this as well from others so I was hesitant to do it. - tko9900ExplorerPoly-glow was one the biggest mistakes I made to get a shine on the trailer. - TxGearheadExplorer III once asked a guy what kind of wax he was using on his 5th...it was very shiny. He said: "none, just use that yellow McGuiars car wash soap".
It works well. yes its yellow. Kinda snotty. Apparently has some wax in it. Get it everywhere...WalMart.
I'm using McGuiars Flagship Premium. I do an extra coat on the front cap and maybe spray some carnuba on top of that.

I also use 3M Marine wax occassionally. - RAS43Explorer IIIThere are products for washing fiberglass and most are good. But any car wash product will also do a good job. Just stay away from home cleaning products as they will remove the wax you spent time applying.
- danrclemExplorerWhat do you all use to wash your camper with? I've had metal campers before but now I've got a fiberglass one.
- larry_barnhartExplorerlook up poli glow and read what they said. trailer life has their advertisement in the back of the magazine.
chevman - chops1scExplorer IIBe careful polishing your decals. Only polish by hand!
P.S. Shine comes from polish. Wax provides protection. - kep5ninerExplorer

Buy McGuires Marine liquid wax. They also have a "cleaning" wax if the RV is really oxidized, the use the other wax. Easy to apply and polish off.

X3! An excellent first step is Meguiar's Marine One-Step Compound, gets rid of oxidation and restores shine (and "feel"), followed by their Flagship Marine wax. - donn0128Explorer IIPolyglo or the floor polish that a lot of folks are currently using is NOT a wax and contains no UV protection. So the underlying surface still gets damaged.
McGuires RV/marine products are good. As is Colinite Fleetwax, which was designed for the aircraft industry. In teuth once you get the surface clean and shiny any good automotive wax will work. The key is surface prep and waxing about twice a year.
