A/C on a mid level fiver

I have a Raptor 299 and would like to replace a vent over the bedroom with a Coleman Mach AC unit, prewired for AC. I am concerned because the area on the roof where the vent is located is about 8" away from the ridge on the roof where the incline starts? If I mount the AC in the vent opening it seems the rear of the unit will be sticking up in the air? What am I missing? Thanks
  • I don't see a problem, as long as your AC sits squarely on the 14x14 vent hole, and gasket seals nicely around same opening. The hold down/gasket compressing bolts, will be in the 14" square.

  • The shaft opening is much smaller than the overall size of the AC unit. You can check but I believe that the roof seal is around the opening and not the size of the unit.
