Take the route through Kingman each direction and you can test out grade braking and hill climbing on Davis Dam Hill. At 10.5K GVWR for that trailer the Duramax should run up the hill pretty easy, and give you a good cooling system test. Lots of hills along the route to practice on before you get to Davis Dam Hill.
