LOL Lyle
You will get use to it, I stay away from older gas stations do to most of them do not have the higher overheads. I also look for stations that have the pumps parallel to the building an not facing the build, even thought I have fuels at some of the Love's an Pilots that have them facing the buildings, most go around back to the truck fuel pumps... I have not found any station that I can't get out of if the overhead is high enough, some are pretty tight I have to say, with about 58ft of truck an trailer it can be tricky LOL.
I had to back out of a Flying-J once, pulled in to the fuel pump out front, guy came out with a bunch of cones, set the up in front of us an started to paint lines an arrows an a cross walk. Now he know we were there so I have to believe he just want to see if I could back the 40ft trailer away from the pump an not hit anything, peace of cake, didn't hit anything an waved at him (no I didn't give him the one finger salute only a wave) as I left smiling :)
After driving truck off an on for 50 years little did he know 40ft was nothing compared to a set of doubles or a 53ft trailer :)
