Andersen Hitch questions

Sent my Good wife out to take the hitch out,i was busy watching tennis.The guys and gals were amazed as she yanked it out and tossed it in our bay,5 2 130 lb.LOL

We have an 8' bed. We replaced our conventional rail-mount hitch with an Anderson rail-mount because of the weight difference. Other than setting the ball height on the hitch, no other changes were needed. Bed rail clearance is no problem. I've never had to make a 90 degree turn so I can't comment on that.

I have a 2017 f250. No clearance issues. I put the ball in middle position. I can turn a 90 but heart beats quick. I put 4x4 under my landing jacks.

We have a 2017 F250 and have no issues. We pull a Grand Design 303 RLS, it tows level, we have good rail clearance and no issues with connecting. We also have no issues with turning radiance. So far so good with the Andersen!

You guys are funny. Thanks for those that shared their experience with the hitch.

Interesting to me, is from OPs other thread, when told that hitch fits the pucks nicely??? Am I missing something, does Andersen now have a hitch that actually drops into the PUCKS?

To answer the OP, the only concern, and it seems that one on here had an issue having enough travel on his landing gear to get high enough to get off the ball, and then enough to get low enough to get level for camping. It was first that I have heard of someone having that problem. I have no issues in doing so with my Andersen.

I am a bit nose high, but that was the case with my previous hitch also, nothing to do with the hitch, but the height of my truck, and fifth wheel .In order to have adequate clearance with the bedrails, I'm a little high, and not a problem for me. The Andersen has adjustments same as any other hitch. Your fifth wheel pinbox will also have adjustments. Its going to depend on the truck ,and fifth wheel combination for most of your questions.

I can say I having no turning nor backing problems with the Andersen, and my truck is a 3500 Ram short bed. A friend with the Andersen ,and a short bed Superduty also has no issues with any of your questions. But as said its going to be the combination of fifth wheel ,and truck that determines those questions.

I have 6" of bed rail clearance with the ball dropped to the lowest setting. Not sure of I can actually get to 90 degrees but thinking I could get pretty close in a pinch. FW is level while towing and have never had to use blocks to unhitch. So far have been very happy with the AU hitch.

What do you mean by standard bed? To me a standard bed in an HD truck is 8' and a short bed is 6.5', but the half ton market has skewed those definitions to the point they don't mean much.

I have a short bed crew cab Ram with a rail mount Andersen I run flipped to the rear. My experience as it relates to your questions:

- I do not have bed rail clearance issues.

- I cannot make a 90% turn but I can turn at full lock going forward either way without making contact. The circumstances that a person would need to turn a fifth wheel 90% would be very limited (I'm being generous here).

- My fifth wheel does not ride nose high.

- No blocks necessary.
