anyone running a demo hitchhiker auto slide hitch

i just bought a 2014 ram 3500 with out the factory mount ( deal was to good to say no).
so i called pull rite and they don't offer anything unless i install bed rails from a different company and use 2 more adapters. the cost climbs quickly. so i found hitchhiker has a underbid mount and reasonably priced slider so i think i might switch that way.

i was wondering if anyone had any experience with it.

thanks
  • I just completed my first trip with the Demco Autoslide - great hitch! You can get it with the under bed mount or the regular in-bed rails, which is what I have.

We were in Kemmerrer, WY, - I took a wrong turn and ended up on a tiny street with no way out. I pulled a U-ie with only one short back up and had the trailer at 90° for most of the turn around. When I got back on the main street I told my wife that the hitch just paid for itself!

I have an F250 with a short bed...the previous owner had the same truck with a Reese manual slider and both sides of his cab were doinked.

One of the best things about the hitch is you don't need a 'key' to make the hitch slide, so you can hook up any 5th wheel and be good to go.

  • Check on etrailer.com to see what they can do for you. They are very helpful.
  • pullrite has the setup for the factory mounts but not without (which i have). but today ram replied to fridays email and they now offer a kit (82213665ab) to add the factory mounts to my truck. so i ordered that and the 2 mounts (4439 and 4409) from pull rite.
    thanks everyone
  • I have a 18 k hijacker autoslide with the under mount rails, demco bought the rights to the design and have changed the head,i have the slide bar.Great hitch, simple to operate,i have over 50000 miles on it and just rebuilt the swivel brackets and pins. Its heavy at 350 lbs, so i use a small hoist to remove it.
  • I understand nobody will have the answer to this question, but I am going to ask anyway. Why does Pullrite not have a Superglide that will work with the Ram prep?
  • I have just purchased a 2015 Ford F350 SRW short bed pickup truck with the Factory fifth wheel prep kit. I am also interested in anyone's opinion or use of the Demco Hijacker autoslide fifthwheel hitch. From my research it looks like a great product for someone with my type truck. Apparently it can be installed with the Factory prep kit with no extra drilling required in the bed on the truck.
    Any thoughts?
  • i forgot to mention i have another megacab.

    sorry
  • thanks but i don't have the hook up that and have a short bed truck.

I am considering the gooseneck hitch and companion but nerves about tight turns.

    thanks
