Attitude water leaks in only when driving

H I have an 06 eclipse attitude and I have a water leak only when driving in rain or spraying the fridge roof vent.

The water seems to leak out under the fridge cabinet. I have built a dam in the roof vent to prevent water from coming in when driving but it still does.

I resealed the vent base as well. The water gets the insulation wet and it leaks onto the generator box then out from under the csbinet.

Has anyone had this issue and solved it? I know water is supposed to be able to get in there but this being my first trailer I don't know how much or if possibly something was misbuilt by eclipse. When we bought the trailer the generator algae 42 hours on it. The thing was brand new.

Thank you.
  • Water is not supposed to get into the trailer at any point. So not sure what you mean by that statement.

I'm sure you are getting water inside all the time, but you may only see it when you are towing.

The roof vent acts like your roof on your house. It overhangs so water runs away from the vent.
Sounds like you have a leak around where the fridge comes up through the roof.
Look around that area and I bet you see a split in the caulk or roof material.

If it is coming in from the bottom when you are driving, your wheels are throwing it up.

Trailers have to be sealed and maintained over time. You have to check all seams and replace caulk as needed.

Sounds like this wasn't done in the past.
  • You might want to closely examine the roof vent. It's old enough to have a crack in it. Nothing that Dicor won't fix but a new vent is a better fix....
