Awning over slideout

We have been looking at some of the new 5er that have 3 slides on the entry side. Noticed quite a few of them had the awning over at least one of the slides. Seems to limit how far you can lower the awning limiting the amount of sun you can block. Also I'D be worried about the corners of the slideout damaging the awning. Was hoping to get some feed back from anyone that has had experience with this type of setup.

Our awning goes over a slideout, we can set the awning to the lowest pitch with no issues,

I think it depends on how high the awning is mounted above the slide. My folks have this on their 5th wheel for a slide holding their booth. The awning isn't much above the slide-out, and they have problems with water pooling as they can't get enough slope to drain. Also, lots of the awning room outside is taken up by their slide. I don't like it and specifically looked to avoid a layout like theirs on our new 5er.

We have a 2015 Cougar with the kitchen slide on the curb side. the awning will tilt fully downward with out coming near the top of the slide out. I cant speak for other brands but I would think they are set up similar to this.
