Just finished a 3 week road trip with my 2022 F250 and new companion hitch. Much smoother ride than my old Pullrite slider.
But, on a couple of occasions I had trouble opening the jaws. In one instance I was backing uphill into the campsite and when I put the TV into park it moved slightly downhill. I had DW get in the cab, put TV into Reverses and was able to release jaws once forward pressure was removed.
In the second instance, on level ground, after I got my rig in the spot I wanted and put landing gear down, I was maybe 3 to 5 degrees away from having TV and rig in alignment. I could not open the jaws, so I had to raise the landing gear, pull forward and then back up till TV and rig were perfectly aligned. Then I could open the jaws.
I was used to the Pullrite being more forgiving on angles. Any suggestions from experienced Companion owners,
Richard
