How about the B&W losing its head if you have to do an evasive maneuver to miss a deer or a wayward car.
In my post on towin in high winds yesterday on I-8, if the trailer was going to get blown over I would be happy that the hitch separated from the truck and let it go, leaving the truck on it's wheels.
I guess if you engineer for all possible scenarios the hitch would be too heavy to be hauled by anything other than a semi. :)
