B&W hitch

I believe that is the same as the Companion, except for the mounting. That being the case, yes, one person can handle it easily. The head section comes off, and the base is separate. That is a bit heavy and awkward, but not bad. Buy it; you won't regret it!

Have you checked the website for the shipping weight? That should tell you close enough! My Curt 16K slider weighs in at just under 250Lbs. That's the hitch and the fifth wheel table. It's more then I want to move at 65 yrs old and 2 back surgeries.

I am old with 2 bad knees and a bad back, I can handle the top (head part) easily, but the bottom piece is a little hard to handle. It depends on what kind of condition you are in but even as old and messed up as I am I can still do it myself.

You are considering the RIGHT hitch!

It is a two piece system, not hart at all to remove or install with the Patriot.

You will love the solid towing experience.

If it does come apart into 2 pieces, the head is pretty easy to move. The base (for the Companion, at least) is big and awkward - not terribly heavy, just not convenient. I use a furniture dolly and only lift it straight up to the edge of the bed and then climb up and move it into position. But, from the road side to the garage and around the garage - it lives on the dolly.

Many use an engine hoist to remove a 5th wheel hitch from the bed of their tow vehicle.

Take the hitch apart and then use the engine hoist to lift the parts off of the tailgate. Or rig a hoist from the garage roof joists.

The base piece is large and off balanced but can be carried by one person.

According to Amazon it is 95#+/-. 250 sounds like a Trailer Saver not a Curt. Mine comes out slick. The head comes off first which is in the 30# range and then the rest. I threw out a Reese after I got this one and would never buy anything else!

I also highly recommend the Patriot, and the purchase from Tweetys. I'm 66 and disabled, but could manage the head fine, the base with some effort.

I just wish people would at least check them out and compare to the others.

I can't stand the clunk that you get with some of the other hitches.

As adamant as you are about B & W I have to guess you are involved somehow with them, after all they are just a hitch, and serve only one purpose.

To the op as said before check with B & W to get the correct weights, and see if it something you can handle. I chose with my hitch to mount a small electric hoist to the ceiling of my garage, and then set it on a small wheeled cart, and rolled to the corner of the garage out of the way.
