Basement TV Mount

I want to install a swing arm TV mount on the rear wall of my basement compartment on my Prime Time Crusader, but I do not want to drill through the vertical aluminum studs. Any suggestion on how to mount it securely to hold a 32 inch TV?
  • You could remove the luan board divider. Cut a piece of plywood as a backer board and put the screws through the board and then screw the mount to the backer.
  • I am concerned about drilling through the aluminum stud. I wonder about the structural integrity of the stud as time passes when the weight of the TV and road vibration are applied to the stud.
  • I mounted a 32" TV inside my basement storage. If you look into the storage I mounted it on a full motion mount on the wall to the right. (the wall right behind my propane tanks) This was a thick plywood wall. I used lag bolts and it worked great. No issues.
  • Are you saying you don't trust the Aluminum Stud to support it? Afraid the screws will pull out?
  • Well you're gonna have to drill through something to mount a 32" TV....
