Black water won't drain

We have always used a lot of water and left the valves closed on the black and gray and dumped black then gray. Been camping in a motorhome many years but we have just gotten a fifth wheel that has 2 bends in the line, unlike the motorhome that went straight down into the tank. This is our second trip with the 5er, definitely still learning. Thanks again to all.

If you think for a second after I spent the better part of $40K for a 5th wheel with every amenity that I'm going to "store my used butt wipe" in a trash can in the bathroom next to the toilet you've lost your ever loving mind.

I'm a Marines Corps vet who has lived and slept in the mud and dirt for months at a time and we would beat your a%# if you even suggested some none sense like this with a straight face.

It is likely that the solution that the op has experienced is temporary. We have been down this road and it is always the same. Unless/until you get that tank pressure washed you will have problems. Do yourself a favor and have a little piece of mind. Have the tank pressure washed. Then use plenty of water when flushing and fill the tank to the bottom of the toilet and then and only then open the black tank valve to dump. Like others have said, TP is not the problem - using to little water and improper dumping practices is.

Double yuck dude!
Fulltime almost six years. Still spend 6 to 7 mo. on road every year.
Only one time we ever had a problem was not using enough water. We use that double ply septic safe stuff.
No feminine hygiene products or kids toys allowed in toilet. We use no holding tank chemicals nor does many of our friends.

I find that suggestion really disgusting. The RV holding tank works extremely well when used correctly and when using tP that is recommended for septic systems along with plenty of water as indicated in the owners manual.

Glad you got it resolved. Just keep adding lots of water to soften thing up. Also won't hurt to occasionally stir thing up from the top as well as adding some RidEx to help digest things.
