Cable/Antenna switch

So I located my switch where the coax cable attaches. It's either an "in" or "Out" position. One of them pops a little green light on. Is there a way to find which position is for cable and which is for antenna?(without trial and error?)

It sounds like you are describing this ANTENNA WALL PLATE which looks like this. This has a small push button switch on it and when pushed in a small LED light comes on. ALot of folks call this a BOOSTER AMP which is not what it actually is. This is where the CABLE TV cable, the roof mounted OTA Antenna cable and the 2nd room (bedroom) antenna cable all terminates. This panel also is where 12VDC is controlled going to the OTA PREAMPLIFIER which is part of the roof mounted antenna. This is where the BOOSTER AMPLIFIER is actually located

This is how the cable connection are terminated on this Antenna WALL Plate. The center RG cable goes to the CABLE TV connection on the trailer.

The 12VDC wires go to the 12VDC Distribution Panel.

When the LED light is 'OFF' then the CABLE Connection on the outside of the trailer feeds the F-connector on the outside of the wall plate to operate the main TV antenna connection and the 2nd TV connections to the bedroom.

When the LED light is 'ON' then the OTA Roof mounted Antenna is feeding the main TV and bedroom TV connections.

Hope this gives you some help...

  • I believe the light is for (Amp) antenna. Leave off for cable.
  • It is a signal booster for the antenna. So when the light is on, that is for the antenna and the booster is working.
