We've been using Potty Toddies for 18 years of fulltiming, in the same Carriage 5th wheel with the original tank, and have never had a problem. I drop one tap in the toilet after Dutch drains the black tank if the weather is 74 degrees or under. It it is above 75, I use two tablets. I buy them at Camping World. It is a no muss no fuss solution and what works for us. Hugs, Di
X2!
Not ever having traveled south in my MH the first summer I decided to stay in Florida I learned REAL quick about the "double dosage" chems for the black tank! :W:B - Dutch___DiExplorerWe've been using Potty Toddies for 18 years of fulltiming, in the same Carriage 5th wheel with the original tank, and have never had a problem. - Traveler_IIExplorerWe've used the Geo method for the last three years works great and our tank gauges still work.
- jstaffonExplorerWow everyone! What a great forum! Thanks so much for all the replies. I have a lot to think about. Thanks again!
- HalmfamilyExplorerWater, water and more water. Third year camping and have never used any chemicals. At the lake we stay 4-5 days before dumping with no odors. Rinse the tank really well and add a couple gallons of water and your good to go.

X10!
Nuff said, thank you!
KISS THEORY
Unscrew cap, pour down toilet, plus ....and you are good to go....literally!:B - MM49ExplorerThe Thetford formaldehyde formula is the gold standard of blue juice. Don't even mess with the other perfumes. It's the only one that’s designed to work.
MM49 - Coach-manExplorer¼ cup water softner, 1 teaspoon dishwashing liquid, 1 gallon of water! Keeps things clean and fresh! No harsH chemicals to screw things up! Also, when flushinf always use plenty of water! The holding tank does just that it holds the stuff, until you dump it, which should not be more than a few days. After dumping add water, and the previous receipe to keep things flowing! Good luck!
- Bob_VaughnExplorerThe Geo Method has worked for us for as long as I can remember plus you do not have to go online or to an rv store to get it....Grocery stores, and Dollar General, WalMart etc. sells the Calgon and Pine Sol. 10 days is the longest we have used our black tank and it still did not stink.....
