Cougar back up camera prep

Bless sales people. I've asked several sales people and supposedly a "factory rep." the following question;
There is a sticker on the upper rear of my new Cougar fifth wheel, stating "Back Up Camera Prep." What is under that sticker?
They all have come up with different answers-all different.
Any Cougar owners out there actually know what is under that sticker?
Thanks...
  • I don't know about Cougar but I bought a new Cruiser RV and it had a similar option. It was pre-wired and had a camera base located at the back of the trailer. All I had to do was buy the kit (screen, camera, etc) pop in into the base and plug it into the cigarette lighter. It was a Furrion wireless system. Truth is, I never liked it, wouldn't buy another Furrion.
  • Best bet to get right answer is to call the factory. That's what I'd do anyway.
  • Yeah, I really don't want to take off the sticker and expose a hole in the wall with wires. Then I know the current sticker won't go back on. I'm trying to stay away from black tape to cover a hole or wires. Tacky!!
    Some RV's have a bracket of sorts with wiring to accommodate a particular brand camera.
    I'll wait to see if anyone answers.....
  • Seeing how this thread is going to be a lot of speculations and wild guess from a lot of people who don't have a clue (like the salesman) I want to be one of those people and play too.

    I'm going to add on to what MD procouple said and say it's like the stickers that say "mount tv here". Peal off the sticker and don't see anything. Cut into the shell and find a bracket and wire.

    Maybe a cougar owner will chime in with the exact answer you seek.
  • We are not Cougar owners, but taking a guess is that is where the wiring and mounting point for your back-up camera is. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!
