- WiscampsinExplorerI've restrung 4 of ours, pretty easy actually. Got the cord from a fabric cord for 16 cents a yard. Link to string diagrams from another forum, 4th post down:

If you are going to continue repairing after doing it once(some do, some don't), buy the string in bulk, like 300ft or more. Each blind takes a lot more string than it looks like as first glance.
Have a clean, waist high work area wider and longer than the opened blind.
Make a line diagram with arrows of all your lines from top to bottom before or as removing. Color coded comes in handy.
Cut the line several inches ( 12 if doing it the first time or have plenty of string) longer. You can always trim it after re-installing on the wall. It also makes it easier to adjust the tension when finished.
While you have it apart look for any rough edges where the string might rub and smooth them out.
Good Luck. - GoostoffExplorer

No humor from me. I would too but then again I hate cats. To each his own though. - C_SchomerExplorer"Our day/night shades do not go well with a cat so we are going to replace them with blinds." I'd replace the cat with a dog!! Sorry, Just my humor. Craig
- ljrNomadI used one of these kits.
It wasn't nearly as difficult as it sounded the first time I read the directions. The process was a real eye opener too. I never understood how they worked until I did it. - skipncharExplorerMy own day/night shades are on a shelf in my garage. Got tired of constant adjustments and restringing necessary. Replaced them with custom drapes on travis rods. No more problems and it looks much more homy.

- dancoppinsExplorerGo to your RV dealer and buy a restringing kit............Online restringing instructions are available and explained similarly but you will still need the plastic inserts, string, and possibly new springs, to complete the job, all of which come in a kit along with a video that covers restringing all the various types of day/night shades. It takes close to 2 hours for the larger shades but is easy if you follow the directions carefully.
After re-strining 4 different shades in our 2010 Cameo, I have vowed to never again purchase these shades. Next one that breaks (the strings rub against the plastic ferules and shred) and I plan to replace them with regular curtains and /or blinds...... - skipncharExplorerHere's a link to a U Tube article restringing day night shades RV
and here's one for printable instructions http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&cad=rja&ved=0CGkQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.winnebagoind.com%2Fresources%2Fservice%2Fpdfs%2F2006-09%2520Restringing%2520Day%2520Night%2520Blinds.pdf&ei=onJ2UvD0Kez22AXCnoH4CQ&usg=AFQjCNG-tErQFXET2NsXqCrNUfr3FnGWBA&sig2=1SKhmYKiXo2zcw1i_6cXoA&bvm=bv.55819444,d.b2I
Once you take them apart though, they are pretty self explanatory if you just want to "wing it"
Good luck / Skip
