Be good to now what kind of rig plus make and model!
Normally I would disconnect the battery, then connect voltmeter across leads coming from the converter, check voltage, record it, then disconnect the rig from shore power, voltage should go away.
Voltage should be over 13 volts when connected to shore power.
I would locate your converter and provide make and model.
