I'm in the market for a new fifth wheel 2014 Big Country 3070 RE and want to hear from all of you on pricing. I've been told to start at 30% below msrp-Is this accurate or should I take it lower? I've seen dealerships online with pricing at 30% below which leads me to believe I can start lower.
Love that (laughable) thread title "Dealer Cost"..:B
NOBODY, NO ONE will ever know "Dealer Cost" - except the dealer..:S
You can come *close* to knowing Dealer Cost (less than Dealer Invoice) on *Cars & Trucks* - which is still *not* dealer cost.
RV's = completely different kettle of fish.
*Some*
manufacturers post MSRP on their web sites, ex: Jayco.
Obviously, if a dealer has a sheet with higher MSRPs, it's bogus!.:(
Unfortunately, a lot of mfgrs consider *everything* so secret, even Edward Snowden and/or the NSA doesn't have their pricing.
MSRP is pretty meaningless, so....
If you are willing to *order* your RV the best method - as someone else stated - shop *EXACTLY* what you want -model, floor plan & options- "far and wide".
The Internet is your friend.
The lowest price you receive, is now your "benchmark".
Use that to re-check with dealers closer to you.
Will they meet or come close enough to your benchmark to get your business?
Are you willing to travel for the best deal? How far?
DRT = "Dead Right There".
*If* you are trying to purchase a unit from dealer stock (on the lot)
- all of the above is moot.
It's time to go camping! Spring has sprung (at least in some places).
RVs in stock are also "in competition" from buyers just like you!
"Offer" whatever you like, and happy negotiating!.;)
