So you don't have to clean brown cabinets? I guess when they get browner they need cleaning. My ceilings white and most I've seen are white. Not sure it's really an issue.

Sorry, but I grew up in a sizeable family and anything white wasn't for long. If you want it to look nice, you spend a lot of time cleaning it, because you see, white shows dirt almost immediately. So IMO if you like cleaning your furnishing frequently white is absolutely the way to go. Not for me, I have better things to do than run behind a kid cleaning streaks from those lovely white walls.
