Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

So many questions/ideas/comments....where to start

OK..our "mods"

--Installed RV shower head from CW, multi spray selections, no leaks, on/off button. Also changed the holder to provide better angle.

--Installed heater vent diffusers

--Installed 2 12vdc fans in the outside fridge access panels. There was no fan in there to begin with. I just tapped into the 12v lines. They're on 24x7 but at .75amps it's OK.

--Installed MaxiAir covers over all ceiling vents

--Installed bug screens on access panels

--Applied expanding foam around all openings in belly cover, especially around the Mor-Ryde mounts.

--Going to drill out rivets on stove cover so it can be removed, it just takes up too much space when opened.

--Still investigating pantry options, to build or to buy??

Observations, those who did get the thermal windows and generators, the best configuration we've ever owned ๐Ÿ™‚

Does anyone else's have a decal by the door the says "Polar Barrier"?

Question for our Dodge Ram 3500 owners, do you get a seatbelt alarm when your passenger is not wearing a seatbelt? We were told that it is not installed in "work" trucks and the manual agrees?!?!

L&M, bummer on your window, hope it works out for you, hopefully you can get help from Jayco. Let us know how it works out.

Yeah..I figured you could run with one LP tank. My salesman also said the vacuum exhaust port was an intake. He's a nice guy but selling a lot of different models. Me thinks he gets confused. Thought I'd check with the experts! Loydt/Cruz...do your hi/lo AC fan settings change the fan speed? I agree with you CHV...the more air through the AC the better. Think I might just leave it be. mmmm...stream water...mmmm

A/C on mine has 2 speeds ... Furnace has one.

Fuel Tank guage is off. When full it registers 3/4 ... but when it shows 1/2 tank it only takes 4 to 4 1/2 gallons to fill up. (14 gal "steel" tank)

Our shower head barely "dribbles" when in the off position ... doesn't shut off completely ... but close.

Water pump does not seem loud on our unit ... then again the last trailer I had was a hybrid. I think they mounted the water pump directly under the couch ... it was so loud.

Took the screens out of the kitchen and bathroom faucets and cleaned them out ... wow what a difference in water flow. Factory told me the sediment from the new tanks can build up and block the flow ... they sure did on mine!! Can't get into the shower head to clean it out, so may end up with a new one.

Furnace has a single speed fan only. High/Low is for the a/c fan.

M Blue, have you noticed if your genny fuel tank guage is off by a 1/4 tank or so?

Both LPs do not have to be attached. I've run one while I went and had the other filled. You just have to make sure to flip the switch.

High/Low I believe is only for the furnace. I'm sure that's to keep them from freezing up, that's a stab. Anyway, that's the way mine works.

Never heard about 2 LP tanks needed to be connected to have anything run in the trailer...our fridge was constantly on LP gas for 9 days with no problem...now with the 2 LP tanks there is a regulator between the two and you turn the "dial" to the one you are drawing fun and make a point of keeping both tanks open when using the fiver so if the LP runs out of one tank it will automatically start drawing from the other tank; at that point switch the dial and get the empty tank filled ASAP so you won't forget

Our shower head does the same thing when switch is off. I thought it may be to prevent the cold blast of water when it's switched back on. I could see how this would be a problem if fresh water was limited. A couple things Jayco has improved (at least on our unit): Closet door latches, furnace heat distribution, fuel tank for gen (steel). I really like the way you can draw water from a stream into the fresh tank. Yes the pump does seem a bit loud. Our dealer said both LP tanks must be connected to run the system. Is this true? Also, the fans on the AC's seem to run at the same speed regardless of whether the speed selection on thermostat is set at hi or low. Anyone else have this occurring? Haven't used the fridge on LP yet so can't help you there Cruz. Thanks for any info. Glad to hear your trip went well Blue! Doug

You can do like we have at home, actually put a ball valve type shutoff at the hose point of connection. Our pump cycles about like that too. I wish it shut off more so I may look to find another shutoff as well.

L&MMusic,
Did the one at Lowe's have an on/off switch which we need when boondocking?

We replaced our hand held shower with an old shower massager we had in the old apartment, merely for the increased pressure. Works much better! Three downsides: we miss the on/off switch; it sits higher in the cradle, thus aiming the flow higher; and it doesn't match!

However...I was just in Lowe's and saw one that DOES match! I'm hoping M GO BLUE will try it out to see how it is...

Congratulations on your trip.

By the by: our thermal pane on our picture window shattered while camped in a quiet campground in Asheboro. Glass inside and out. No movement noted around camper by others nearby. Will be checking with Jayco to see if it's covered under warrenty or if we must replace it at our own cost.

CHV_FRK,
This was more than a normal leak from the shower head...leaked enough to cause the pump to come on every few seconds and when you're boondocking all it does is waste water...

On the sewer gas smell. Did you have any of the windows open to pull air from the exterior with the fan on. I have found ours is sealed pretty tight. Have the entry door slightly cracked and move a slide...it will push open or slam closed. Pretty tight.

The shower head will still leak. It's made to. Any rv replacement head will as well. Even our Oxygenics does this.

Hang in there with the pump. Our second trip it was much quieter. I don't think it's the pump as much as the mounting. I suppose yours is worst since it's under your bathroom, ours is under the hallway.

We also have rotochoks... they help, but I think we are going to get the JT stabilizers too.

Glad you enjoyed your trip.....and jealous of the dual pane windows and genny.
