Dewinterizing too early

I just completed flushing the anti freeze out in my 5th wheel and refilled the system with fresh water. It might be below freezing tonight, but not for a long time. Am I headed for trouble? Thanks.
  • It was 19 last night. Opening day of fishing starts in 3 weeks and the ice is still on the lake we go to. Thought about getting the camper ready last week. Thankfully I procrasinate really well.
  • It's a little early for here in Texas Panhandle. I have dewinterize as were staying at local lake for a couple weeks. Got down to 23 last night. Some people in a Redwood had lines freeze the night before and it was only about 29. Kicker was the 40 MPH wind. When we get back to town I will put it in a storage building. When its going to get below freezing I will turn heat on at about 45 degrees. I have an on board generator so can charge battery every few days.
  • Possibly yes. It all depends on how cold it gets and for how long with a caveat of what steps you take to prevent problems. Your chances of running into trouble are greater if you do nothing than if you take the proper steps to prevent damage.

There are several threads on this already!

Water doesn't freeze instantly when the temp hits 32f! We four season here in western Oregon, I only blow the lines if it is cold to begin with and the temp is going to be below about 28 to 25. It depends on the daytime temps. If 50 to 60 not an issue, think about how long it takes water to freeze in your freezer!
  • Unless a hard freeze is expected, I wouldn't be concerned. I am not. Suppose to be below freezing here, also.
  • You should be fine, but turn your furnace on and set tstat to 45 or so and open some cabinets for a little insurance.
  • Scroll down a bit, the subject was covered earlier today and a few days ago.

  • If you're camping, just add antifreeze to the black and gray tanks? Everything else should be fine
