Great Idea! Do you have pictures? I found a Marinco twistlock here. I don't see why you would ever do it, but have you ran the generator when you were plugged into shore power? How did the switch react? Thanks.
The transfer switch will switch to which ever power source is wired as the priority and disconnect the other source. I test the switch function every time the generator is exercised. Mine is wired with the generator as priority.
I did not take pics of this mod. You link has a good price for the kit -but I would use the $86 vendor as they have a long history.
I bought an inlet only and individual cord ends/boots/connectors and used a weather tite PVC box from Home Depot because of my chosen location on the front left 5er underhang well below the Landing Gear switch. Chose this place due to where I have to store my unit at home.
If I was buying an inlet today -would consider a Furrion unit due to cost.
A good reliable internet source for Furrion.
