I hated handling that big old cord through the little hole as well so I cut it down to about 4' and made the rest of it an extension cord. I coil it up and throw it in the storage pass through. Many times I'm able to reach the power pedestal without using the extension cord. This way when I get home I only have to pull out the 4' and plug into my shore power cord that stays plugged into the garage.
