Dual 6v Vented Battery Boxes

I just changed out the dual 12v Interstate batteries that came in my Montana. I decided to go with 2 GC2 6v batteries. I'm assuming many others have done the same thing and I'm wondering what they are using for vented boxes. Preferably, I would want one dual box with both top and bottom vent holes, but I don't see any vented 6v battery boxes when I search Google. Any suggestions?

I am using a NOCO Dual 6v box that a got at Battery Town. I cut off the top and bottom vents from my old 12 volt box and added them to the NOCO. This box is expensive but the dual batteries fit perfectly.

I use two of these and they are nice boxes and can be purchased for less if you shop around.

These are on alternative, but I don't really like that you have to secure them from inside with screws, or strap then down, plus they need modified to accept vents top and bottom.

    battery box
This is the box I use. Single box, 4 batteries.
Front compartment has plenty of venting.
This box does not really seal much.
Box happened to wedge in nicely, no hold downs.

I use this box also to hold my 4x6volt batteries. I put four screws in the bottom of the box to hold it down. Drilled a hole in the bottom and added a vent on the top. Works great and the price is good.

These are great boxes. I did like everyone else 7 years ago and it has worked terrific. Plus they are inexpensive and there isn't any good alternatives.

That looks like a nice box! I like the outside mounts.

You did what I did with my vents, cut them out of my old box and installed in the Blue Sea back when I had it.

Um, they're about the same size as 12v batteries; why not use 12v boxes? :h

Yeah, they are "about" the same size, but the 6v are taller and the 12v box won't close.
  • They are too tall for the standard 12v boxes.

I used this in my Montana - modified with a vent out the top and bottom through the cabinet. Great box - but discontinued.

    Blue Sea

There are plenty of Marine style for golf cart batteries, but unfortunately they are designed to vent inside the cabinet. I've yet to find the perfect one for an RV cabinet.
