Dual Motor Landing Gear

Well.....I ordered the Bulldog Dual Motor Landing gear today and not a minute too soon!!
I had the trailer at home doing some cleaning and odd projects and returned it to the storage unit this afternoon. I was raising the trailer and just about had it off the truck when the drivers side landing leg gave way and the trailer dropped back down on the truck. Lucky enough the other leg kept things from getting out of control. I thought the leg must have slipped through the brackets or something but when I checked everything was in tact. The only thing I can guess is that the screw mechanism failed inside the tube.
This must be why I started having so much additional trouble getting the trailer raised enough to get off the Andersen Hitch Ball in recent trips. I will be so happy when the new landing gear arrives and I can get the bad one replaced.

So how did you deal with the leg next to the genny?

I had a mobile RV guy handle it. :) He was much smaller than I and could fit atop the generator housing and reach the leg. I'm simply to fat and too old and not nimble enough to reach it. If it hadn't been for that I could have done the whole thing myself. I did do the wiring and mounted the control panel. It's really an easy conversion...if you have easy access to both legs.

I don't know what type of dual motor system I have (it was converted at the factory in 1997). It works great and allows for some adjustment side to side for leveling.

I've never had to change a leg, or legs, but my current KZ, with 4-point leveling system, is about 4x faster than my old Komfort, with a single motor. Makes hitching and unhitching a =lot= faster.

I have the Ultra Fab dual motor with the Andersen hitch. Quite satisfied with the performance so far. I added the JT Strong Arm stabilizers as we’ll.

Check with Eteailer about the kits to convert your existing gear to dual motor. They had one for the ones on our 5er but I opted to just go with a 6pt hydraulic from Equalizer Systems.

Have heard good things about Bully. I also have a slow single motor and it sux with the Andersen.

I want to upgrade but getting the leg changed out on the curb side looks to be a real PITA. Either have to pull the genny or find someone small enough to slide up and over the generator box.
