Fireplace in Winnebago Which One? Like It? Safe?

Our Model 38T had an optional fireplace that the previous buyer did not get. So there is a space for it under the T.V Really would like to know where to buy one that will fit other than from Winnebago and if there are any safety concerns? lots of them almost fit on amazon etc...so I guess you could trim around but would like a blower and remote...any advice? thanks

Yes it's a residential ceiling fan!

Ah? ceiling fan? is that like a residential ceiling fan? I saw one a guy put in a small motorhome once was amazing but not sure if it would work in our motorhome...

Oh thanks so much hubbie is thinking of hard wiring this and I was thinking the most simple and safe solution would be a plug in unit. We do not live or travel where this is going to be a huge concern for below 35 degrees (only at nite sometimes in Sunny California) but at the same time would be nice to be a sufficient heat and fan system to warm the living area. I have a small one I use for one room in the home but its a joke really for any major heat source. But I love the look. So I assume one has to pay attention to load and watts and circuit breakers and all that stuff? I sure want one but not at the expense of safety hazard. Our motorhome has basement heat pump that cuts off of electric at below 40 degrees. This site sure has a lot of options for folks looking.

I enjoy the fireplace in our cardinal, to me its well worth the investment. As the one that came with me 5w has died I am looking at replacing with a unit from here;

You should be able to order the trim and everything you need, including the fireplace, from Winnebago. They are very good about that.

I was looking at a Tour that didn't have one either and was going to add one in (about $1100 for parts).

I've had fireplaces in RVs for years - some issues have occurred when the factory doesn't tighten the wires well at the terminals, and expansion contraction starts them to arc, and some have done some nasty damage to the terminal block. Generally it can be smelled before it turns into a real fire, but the main thing is just make sure the terminals are tight when you install.

Seems like there is generally not an exact fit and most who install them have to add some trim. There are several brands I've seen, and bought a Life Smart (i think) from Wal-Mart myself. It has either 1250 or 1500 watts, and does the job well. We love it.
