We just bought our first fifth wheel and I am getting to know it... I will have a bunch of questions I am sure! ;-)The unit we bought is a 1997 25' Golden Falcon manufactured by Glendale Recreational out of Canada. It is in good condition, and everything seems to work well.Here's my question - this camper has a small slide, pictured below -- does anything need to be done to brace the slide when it is out? There doesn't appear to be any place for a brace or jack.

No. You do not need nor do you want to place a brace under the slide out. If for some reason thw trailer droops a bit you could damage the alide out.With a fiver this age, would suggest that about the first thing you do is get up on the roof and give it amcomplete inspection. Look at the condition of the rubber membrane and all the seams. Be very careful about anything you use to seal the seams. Sicor lap seal is about the best for roofs.

Nice unit, I didn't know Glendale made any other models other than Titaniums. They went bankrupt sometime after 2005. There is a Titanium owner forum, I'd guess your model probably shares a lot in common with them.

You might want to register at the "titaniumrvowners.com" forum. Titanium was the replacement brand for the Falcon. Lots of Glendale knowledge on that site.

Our problem came when we didn't check the roof thoroughly enough. Look, look again and look again! At one point I had our eagle eye 16 yo up there double checking us.

We missed that leak all winter long. Now I'm a freak about roof maintenance .

We've had our first slide for about a month. One piece of advice that we got was don't step on it unless it is fully out and seated in position. No strength otherwise.

Thanks for the welcome and info. Good to know. I have looked at the roof and it is in good shape with no soft spots, but will double check the seams.

On the refer cover... That is next on my agenda. I will start another post for that question. Thanks!

No on support of that slide. When they go out, you will notice that they automatically seat themselves, you don't need support. Welcome to the forums!
