Flat tire

Blew a tire on I75, Raised tire by pulling good tire up on ramp made from 2 by 6 cut as Lwiddis also stated, works great. Much easier than jacks

I have a 1997 chevy 3500 extended cab pulling a 2017 keystone couger xlite. My biggest problem was breaking the lug nuts after camping world probably over torque a couple days ago. Used a bottle jack everything worked fine.

I do something similar to this only I use the Lynx Levelers (legos) to build a ramp. Have had to do it twice and it worked well. Just need to have enough legos to build the ramp.

OP...whatever you decide and end up with be sure to do a "dry" run before hitting the road. I found out the hard way that my spare tire was held on with a different size lug nut.

I do have a bottle jack out in the barn. however i do not haul that thing around in the fifth wheel.

I bet you the F 250 jack will do the job.

Changing a flat tire is simple with the std leaf spring suspension if you have a shorty hyd bottle jack.
When I was on the road pulling work trailers I had a old Truckers Special 12 ton shorty hyd bottle jack made for lifting from under the axle tube as close as possible to the suspension U bolt. This jack comes with a short leg steel U channel that slips over the top of the jack and cradles the tube.
Eliminates the axle (s)from slipping off the small end of the jack.
Using this method just raises one end of the axle and not the side of the trailer. In fact the trailer won't raise at all.

As others say hooked to the truck or sitting on a pad some where doesn't make any difference.

Whatever method you use make a dry run at home especially if you go with a ramp type device. Some folks found out the hard way the ramp didn't raise the flat tire off the ground or not far enough to mount the fully inflated spare tire.

Another vote for the Bottle Jack, its the safest way to go. You can get a reasonable priced one at Harbor Freight. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!

It does not matter if your front legs are down or if you are hooked up to your truck. Mine is sitting on a bottle jack right now as I am doing the brakes.I put the jack under the axle on the bottom of the spring between the u bolts.

I prefer my home built ramp using a cut up 2x6. Loosen lugs, run good tire up the ramp, put on spare, you're done. Stabilizers are for...stabilizing...not lifting. Yes, I also carry a bottle jack.
