Frameless Dual Panes - Better or Worse?
I've been shopping for a new trailer longer than I'd like to admit -- let's just say frameless windows weren't around when I first started.
I asked for advice about dual pane windows several years ago, and those who had them shared their experience and highly recommended them. So, that's the direction I was planning to take.
I have 3 kids and 3 small dogs, so I was more interested in the noise factor than the R factor. Now when we're in camp, every time someone's dog barks, my 3 like to join in and anything I can do to limit that noise would be a huge benefit on our nerves.
So, my plan all along was to special order dual panes. However, my desired floor plan was discontinued this year. I can still find several 2019 layovers and a few 2018 used, but none of them have dual pane windows.
The current model is similar, but it includes a 2nd bathroom and I'd rather use the extra space found in the old floor plan.
That's all the background -- the reason for my specific question -- one of the posts from several years ago mentioned that the dual panes were different for frameless windows. The post seemed to suggest they were inferior than the conventional style of dual panes (I'm talking about a 5er btw -- I think I've read that dual panes for motor homes are different).
So for those of you with frameless dual pane windows -- are they everything you had hoped -- or has the construction or benefits of dual pane windows changed with the introduction of frameless windows?
I've never stepped into a 5er with frameless dual panes. If they would make a huge difference in the noise factor, it may be worth it to buy the new model and special order the windows. If they won't make as big a difference as I'm thinking, I'd be better off with the older model sans dual panes. Thanks -- I'd really appreciate your thoughts.
