What's the big hurry to drain the fresh water tank? I would assume you are through for you trip and just want to drain it. Why not just take it home, open the valve and then do some other things around the house or trailer for a while. That's what I do and I realize it takes a while, but since I'm not going anywhere very soon, it's not a big deal.

Its not a matter of being in a rush, But if you use a dump station people get angry because it takes so long, letting it drip run while driving down the road is illegal and you can't just let X amount of water out in a camp ground or on the side of the road. And watering the plants is a no no in an apartment ! At present I use a drain in the complex but I can't do it for ever. So I guess a bigger outlet is called for...
Cheers - tinner12002ExplorerMy older units were like that, my Raptor has an 1 1/2" gate valve in the bot of the tank and when you open it you better get gone quick or your going to get wet!!
- buckyExplorer III find that opening the drain valve as we leave for home keeps impatient aggressive drivers away from us.
- FLY_4_FUNExplorerIf you can get access to your fresh tank you could get a new larger diameter fitting spin welded on at a plastics place. I did add a 1/2" threaded fitting to the plain pex so I could attach a hose and drain water onto my lawn/flowers after returning from a trip. Last rig had a 2" drain and it was empty in 45 seconds...that was great!

Depending on the situation, I open the fresh water tank, all faucets, and the hot water heater when I'm heading home--yeah, I'm a law breaker. However, when we get to the homestead, most of the water has been shaken out and winterizing is simple.
I do this also, works just great! - jalichtyExplorerWhat's the big hurry to drain the fresh water tank? I would assume you are through for you trip and just want to drain it. - Son_of_NorwayExplorerYou can use the water pump to empty some of it out of the hot water heater valve.
- ventrmanExplorerWe have a 2006 Forrest River Sierra. It drains fine. If I had a Problem, I would drink a couple of Beers.
- DutchmenSportExplorerI'm a "law breaker" too. Yes, it takes time. Small hole plus a lot of water equals lots of time. Simple physics.
