Fuel Station Troubles

Hello, I have a 2013 26ft Stellar Eclipse with fuel station issues. I bought it brand new and first time out camping realized the fuel station does not pump fuel. Everything sounds normal when pump is turned on but it is only pushing air out. The tank is only about half way full of fuel. I'm still under warranty but before I waste time and fuel hauling it back to the dealer for repairs am I just missing something obvious? Since its brand new could it just need to be primed? We've run the generator so I know that's at least getting fuel. Thanks.
  • Seemed like they held 25-30% reserve for the gen set. Try filling up the tank another 5-10 gals and see if the pump works. I remember you said it was pumping air, and if it will pump air, then you would think it would pump fuel. Some tanks have a pick up tube from the top of the tank, hanging down to a certain level, others have a fitting in the side of the tank, welded in at a certain level, and then the gen set line is closer to the bottom. My self, I would add some gas and check the pump, then if it still has issues, and you have warranty, let the pros fix it. Those gas pumps are positive displacement gear drive, yours is new enough it shouldn't have the swelled gear problem yet, so they are usually simple to fix.
  • Thanks for being patient with me guys, just to clarify, so you say that with one tank, it's made to have a reserve supply at the bottom for the Generator? And once it's down to a certain point you will no longer be able to pump fuel out of the station? Do you know about how many gallons this "reserve" is? I've never filled the tank to full, but it's about half full now, I'm sure it should still be able to pump fuel with 15+ gallons in it? Thanks!(my tank is 36 gallons).

Good chance this is the issue. Try the genny to verify they use separate pickup tubes.
  • My keystone will empty it @ the fill hose. Not very fond of Keystone. Kinda wish I hadn't bought it.

  • Fuel tank issues are not uncommon, gears swell and other problems. Best to take it in and let them fix it along with any other items you've found.
  • It's just a single tank. I guess I'll just go ahead and take it in, I'm not very mechanically inclined. Thanks!
  • shouldn't be anything to prime (I just had one apart this weekend; they are very simple)

do you have dual tanks? 1 for the genset and a different for the pump?

another option could be that the pickup tube has fallen into the tank
