Looking at a 2019 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. I want to add a generator. Dealer does not know if I can add a gen. It is not prep'd. Factory says they do not offer gen prep on Reflection. Anyone here know if I can add a gen. Thinking of a Onan 5.5.

I leave my 7000 honda in the back of my truck all summer. Have it chained to the hitch. Runs everything in my trailer and I have remote start cord I plug in if its going to be a few days some where without power

Sounds like good advice. Thanks. Looks like there is a Honda in my life.

Hi,

Add a rack at the back. Add a 3500 watt remote electric start Champion inverter generator. Run a cable to the power distribution box. Add a transfer switch.

If 3500 watts is not enough then consider either the 4500 watt Yamaha or Honda. Remote start would need to be added.
Regards, Don
My ride is a 28 foot Class C, 256 watts solar, 556 amp-hours of Telcom jars, 3000 watt Magnum hybrid inverter, Sola Basic Autoformer, Microair Easy Start.

I have heard stories of people who wanted to add an Onan to their fifth wheels that were not prepped.. They almost ALL got prices in the range of $10,000.00 for the unit, and installation...

A few years ago we were looking at buying a new fifth wheel and the one we were looking at hard at the time did NOT have the prep on it either. The selling dealer gave me a price of $7k to install the generator, that was in addition to the cost of the generator... needless to say, that didn't happen,

Cost prohibitive.
