I didn't say anything about towing a trailer I said a swivel wheel and it isn't considered a trailer but extension in my state. It connects to the frame of the 5er via either a two or three point attachment and has one or two wheels for help supporting the weight. According to the manufacture they have not heard of a case where it is consider a trailer and ticketed. If it extends less than 48 inches from the back it doesn't need lights.
