Cable slides are all about weight reduction. You are seeing them more and more. Open Range units are typically lighter than the competition.

As far as Jayco Bailing them out. You are correct to a point. They needed to more cash flow to keep up with demand for their units.
Jayco must have seen them as a decent company or they would not have gotten involve. Randy Graber the original CEO is still in charge.

We looked at Open Range prior to buying our Cougar High Country and we just thought it looked cheap. We recently looked at a Reflection 337RLS and it appears to be just what we want in a fiver.

Because so many people clamp on bike racks and end up twisting the bumper off.

For the same cost, they have a frame mounted 2" receiver for bike racks or storage racks.

For those that are arguing for a rear cap, they don't have bumpers either.

I can tell ya why as i have friends with 2 GD Solitudes and they like them just fine but even they will tell ya ,they Cheap out on so many things like you mentioned and MANY other things to stay in the same price range as the Montana Legacy .Cedar creek.Heartland Big Horn,Jayco Pinnacle..ETC.... and that is too bad because they are nice looking RV's with good Customer Service

We are also heavily considering the GD 323BHS, but have a question for the GD experts.

Not that we like our Oak anymore, it is much lighter than most newer trailers. Chris

GD FW's, interior too dark for me - no thank you, that's why I chose an ARTIC FOX.
