Grease for front landing gear

So my front landing gear is moving slower than it was, so pulled the motor, greased the gear that was behind the motor, and then noticed a grease zirk on the post (drivers side) that must grease the gear that raises the landing gear up and down. So it does work better, but I would guess the other side (passengers side) would have a grease zirk too. The landing gear post is sandwiched between the generator box and the battery rack where the two batteries and slide hydraulics are. There is a solid metal plate between the battery access and the post. So how would you add grease to this post? I can't figure it out.

  • You can also aquire or build an extension kit and put the zerk wherever you desire. I use extension kits in the HVAC industry on fan bearings.
  • If there's room, remove the straight zerk and add a 90 elbow zerk.

  • remove the generator........

    Sorry :B

The only way I can access my curbside landing gear is via front compartment which does not have a generator in it. Otherwise I would have no way of getting to that side.

Zerks a re nice but not necessary. Mu landing gear doesn;t have any and after almost 11 yrs they are still functioning as designed.
Once a year I pop the sheet metal tops off and add a couple globs of grease to gear pack.

Front landing gear legs....Once a month
I drop inner full length and spray them down with a dry graphite lube then run driven outer leg full length and do the same.

Then it's all about battery voltage.
Good well maintained batteries and all is good
