HappiJac Heights and Swivel Chairs (And Newbie Saying Hi)

I've been browsing your forum for a month or so now and I find it very informative with a lot of pleasant contributors. I hope I can bring more good cheer in the future.

We have had a Terry SUT 24b for nearly twenty years and it is clearly time to get a new Toy Hauler. I have a few questions. I'm posting a picture from the Desert Fox gallery for illustration.

We would like to customize the stop positions of the HappiJac bed(s). Is it easy to customize that way? (We want to be able to bring the bed down so that it just clears a couple of dog crates and we don't have to climb a ladder to get in.)

Secondly, if you have the swivel chairs like in the picture above, what do you do with them when you load your toys? Do they fold up or what?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Welcome aboard, MACE.

I edited your post to resize the image down to 800 px wide so the page wouldn't blow up.

The swivel chairs don't convert to a smaller size. You just have to scoot them to a spot that fits for you.

There isn't any way to adjust the stops on our top bunk to make it go any lower. You could keep it pinned up high and then stop the bottom bunk just above your dog crates, but the dinette bed isn't as comfortable as the solid top bunk. It's good enough for kids, but not for me! 🙂

The lower stop on my bed was pre-set. I would have to adjust it if I wanted to remove the lower jack-knife bed and have the upper bed be lower.

But, I'm not sure if that's what the OP wants to do.

We had the swivel chairs in our Puma. The chairs got moved forward and blocked the bunk access when the toys were loaded. A minor inconvenience. We never used the happi jack beds.

I know it's pretty easy to remove the bottom HappiJac beds- the jackknife ones. But we didn't change the stop points for the beds themselves.
